Year 1 and 2 'Book-nic' at Regent's Park

We kicked off this year's Young Readers Programme series with a lovely 'Book-nic' at Regent's Park.

Year 1 and Year 2 were treated to gorgeous, brand-new books courtesy of the National Literacy Trust and their partners, including British Land. We read and shared our new stories whilst enjoying the glorious outdoors. The children were allowed to choose from a wide range of titles all connected to the theme of nature, such as Flower Block by Lanisha Butterfield, That Rabbit Belongs to Emily Brown by Cressida Cowell and The Girl Who Became a Fish by Polly Ho-Yen.

It was wonderful to see so many parents there. Thank you for joining us to listen and read to your children.

All of the children took home a book of their choice. Excitingly, we still have two more events to go! So by the end of term, each child in Sycamore and Rowan will have three brand-new books.
