We couldn't be more proud of our girls' and boys' football teams for both winning the Camden South League this season.

As far as we can tell, this is the first time our girls' team has ever won the division and it marks the brilliant culmination of what has been a three-year project to promote girls' football. Most of this squad have been playing for the school since Year 4 and they have come so far in that time.

Our boys' team is a young one and we thought this would be a 'learning season'. But, wow, they have blown us away! Winning the league with a squad that only contained two Year 6 children was a brilliant achievement and we can't wait to see how they push on even further next year.

At the Camden Finals, both teams represented the school fantastically. The boys even came away with a superb medal for winning the 3rd place playoff game.

Lifting the trophies was a joyful moment. Huge congratulations to both teams - you will go down in Christ Church history.

To the National Literacy Trust (NLT) and their Libraries for Primaries campaign, we could not be more grateful. Because of the strong partnership we have created over the years, by participating in projects such as the Young Readers Programme and Young City Poets, the NLT knew of our school and of our children who love to read. With the support of Bloomberg they have designed, installed and created a beautiful space that our children cannot wait to use and enjoy. A huge thank you to both organisations. The launch day was made into a day never-to-be-forgotten due to the hard work of so many people. To all the team at Royal Palaces and the wonderful Queen herself, thank you for helping us plan and stage a historic experience and to the brilliant authors who visited – Ramzee, Chris Smith, Sophy Henn and Tola Okogwu – we are so grateful for the time and energy you gave to our children. It was a mesmerising and joyful day, which truly filled our hearts. Well done, everybody!

Key Stage 2 had a brilliant Sports Day at Canons Park.

Once again, we were hosted by Arnold House School, who went above and beyond to make the event so special for our children. Thank you so much, Chris Kerr and your team, for organising such a fun, active, and memorable day.

The children threw themselves enthusiastically into a wide range of activities, including football, tennis, cricket, dodgeball, running, and rounders. Everywhere we looked it was a joy to see all of the children so engaged and playing competitively, fairly and respectfully.

What did the children think? Well, Max loved playing football and showed off many impressive skills. Xander’s highlight was the 60m sprint - he flew down the track! Eva-Rose and Melissa both had a fantastic time playing tennis and shared how much they enjoyed being on the astroturf courts.

Amongst all of that activity, the children were treated to a superb lunch. They tucked into delicious pasta bakes, roast chicken, roast potatoes, and Yorkshire puddings - the perfect fuel for an action-packed day.

We returned to school with big smiles, tired legs, and lots of great memories. Thank you once again to Arnold House School for hosting us so warmly - we’re already looking forward to the next one!

Last Friday, nine of our girls' football squad represented the school brilliantly at the Hub Cup in Regent's Park.

On a mainly sunny afternoon, our girls picked up three wins and one draw from five matches played. For many of them, it was their first experience of playing competitively on grass and I think they loved it!

It was wonderful to see all the children grow and improve as the day progressed. We were so very proud of you; we can't wait to see you continue your progression.

(Delilah, I am so sorry I didn't take the team photo until the end of the day because you had gone home by that point and so missed out. I must do better next time [Ross])

We want to say a big ‘Well Done’ to our boys’ football team for a tremendous 24/25 season.

On Tuesday, they played at the Camden Finals having progressed from the Camden South League by finishing second. Although it wasn’t to be for them on the day – going down 0-1, 0-2 and 0-3 – it doesn’t take away from a fantastic performance in the Camden South League.

It is the second time in three years that our boys’ team have reached the Finals, which is a fantastic achievement given we are a one-form entry school mainly up against bigger schools, where there is a greater pool of children who play regularly.

Thank you to Coach Robert for all that you have done this year to ready our boys and to foster a spirit of hard work and resilience in them.

It was lovely to return to Regent's Park for this year's event. Here's what some of the children thought about it:

Mianna: "It was very hot but it was so nice on the grass. It tickled me and my mum's toes when we took our shoes off. I had a very nice time with my hat on."

Leighton: "It was AMAZING. It was very good and hot. The events were so fun. I got 1.55m on the standing long jump!"

Thank you to all of the parents and carers who were able to attend and help out. The adults' egg and spoon race was an unforgettable spectacle - time to get training for next year's renewal I think!

“We thought about community when we had to design a world for everyone to live in."
"We had to show reconciliation if we fell out with each other and if we disagreed.”
This was followed by our Summer Fair on Friday.

From wire modelling to pasta frames, shoe design to beautiful watercolours, we had a little bit of it all.

Hollie does a brilliant job of co-ordinating our Art and Design curriculum here at Christ Church. You may not know this but we are a Gold Artsmark-achieving school. Hollie has put so much thought into our art offer and our curriculum; the children’s sketchbooks and final outcomes this year have blown us away.
