Christ Church is a warm and happy community, where inclusion lies at the heart of our work. We are ambitious and are driven to help all of our children enjoy their time here and make the very best possible progress.

All aspects of a child’s education contribute to how confident they feel at school. It is essential, then, that our offer is carefully tailored to the needs of all of our pupils.

Some children need special support to help them close gaps in their learning or to help them catch up with their peers. We prioritise the early and accurate assessment of a child’s needs in order to establish a plan that will enable them to succeed. We work with and seek advice from a range of outside agencies, which always includes full consultation meetings with parents.

The progress of our children on our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Register is monitored closely as part of a constant ‘Assess, Plan, Do Review’ cycle. Strong communication with parents is prioritised so that all the adults around our SEND children are working harmoniously and understand what is being done at school and at home to support the child.

Our school SENDCO is Hollie Kostis. You can contact her by calling (0207 387 7881) or emailing (admin@cchurchnw1.camden.sch.uk) the school office and asking to make an appointment.

EHCPS (Educational Health Care Plans) and ENGs (Exceptional Needs Grants)

The London Borough of Camden uses the Exceptional Needs Grant (ENG) to provide rapid, non-statutory funding for resident pupils whose needs exceed the standard SEND K budget. Established in 2018, the ENG ensures that approximately 350 pupils across Camden receive high-level provision (equivalent to EHCP funding) without the delay of statutory processing. Funding is often secured significantly faster than the 20-week statutory limit, prioritising immediate impact on learning. Pupils are supported with the same rigour as EHCP holders, despite appearing as 'SEND K' in national data. This strategy accounts for Camden’s statistically lower EHCP percentage compared to neighbouring boroughs; it represents a refined local model of inclusion and early intervention rather than an under-identification of need.

SEND Information Report

The Christ Church Primary SEN Information Report sets out what we provide for children with SEND throughout their time with us. It is a comprehensive document that aims to give families a clear, informative overview of what inclusion looks like here at Christ Church.
