Farm Visit 2026

This week, we were delighted to welcome the farm back to Christ Church! The children loved meeting the different animals, including a pony, donkey, goats and sheep. They had the opportunity to feed the animals, stroke and touch them, and learn more about how the farm team cares for them. The children also learnt some important lessons about being around animals safely, including staying calm and quiet so that they do not scare them, and washing their hands carefully after touching or feeding them.

Our EYFS children particularly enjoyed feeding the animals during their visit. Arin said he loved it when the goat licked his hand to get the food, while Lily-Rose said it tickled when she fed them. There were lots of smiles, laughter and excited conversations as the children met the animals and learnt more about them.

After school, we opened the playground to families so they could also spend some time meeting the animals together. It was lovely to see so many children sharing the experience with their parents and carers, and it was a wonderful day for the whole school community.
